Agentic AI demos look impressive. Operational reality is harder.
An agent that can draft, route and act is only valuable if the surrounding workflows, permissions, escalation paths and audit trails are designed with equal care.
In healthcare and the wider public sector, the question is rarely “can the model do it?” It is “can the organisation absorb it safely, measure it, and sustain it?”
Treat agents as new digital colleagues. Define their remit. Supervise their work. Retire what does not earn its place.
